Gravel Calculator

Estimate the volume and weight of gravel, crushed stone, or sand needed for your project.

Comment Utiliser
  1. Measure the Length and Width of the area you want to fill.
  2. Determine the necessary Depth (usually 2-4 inches).
  3. Select the Material Type. Different materials have different densities, affecting the total weight you'll need to order.
  4. The calculator determines the exact volume (in cubic yards) and weight (in US Tons) needed for delivery.

Formule

Gravel Math:
Volume = Length × Width × Depth
Weight (Tons) = Volume (Cubic Yards) × Material Density (Tons/yd³)

Densities used:
Crushed Stone: 1.4 tons/yd³
Pea Gravel: 1.3 tons/yd³
Dry Sand: 1.2 tons/yd³

The Gravel Calculator takes the guesswork out of ordering landscape materials. Because bulk aggregates are sold by weight (tons) rather than pure volume, this tool factors in the specific density of crushed stone, pea gravel, and sand to provide accurate delivery estimates.
