Horsepower Calculator
Estimate an engine's horsepower based on its torque and RPM, or 1/4 mile trap speed.
Cómo Usar
- Select the mode: Engine or Drag Racing.
- If using Engine mode, enter the measured Torque and RPM.
- If using Drag mode, enter the vehicle's total weight and its 1/4 mile Elapsed Time (ET) or Trap Speed.
- The calculator determines the horsepower based on standard physics formulas (e.g. Hale's formula for drag).
Fórmula
Engine Formula:
Horsepower = (Torque × RPM) / 5252
Drag Racing Formula (ET):
Flywheel HP = Weight / (ET / 5.825)³
Drag Racing Formula (Trap Speed):
Flywheel HP = Weight × (Speed / 234)³
Horsepower = (Torque × RPM) / 5252

The Horsepower Calculator is a vital tool for automotive enthusiasts and engineers. It translates dynamometer readings (Torque and RPM) into standard Horsepower, and allows racers to reverse-engineer their engine's power output based on their 1/4-mile drag strip times and vehicle weight.
